How we vet every company before it's listed
Anyone can build a directory. We built this one because we work on grills, fireplaces and fire pits ourselves, and we only want to send homeowners to companies we would hire. Here is exactly what a company has to show before it gets the Pro Grill Verified badge.
A good reputation where they already work
Before a company can apply, it needs at least 5 reviews averaging 4.0 stars or better on Google or Yelp, from real customers in its own area. We look at the reviews themselves, not just the number: how recent they are, what people complain about, and how the owner responds.
Ratings are re-checked automatically every week.
Insurance on file, and kept current
Every company uploads its general liability insurance certificate, and any license its state requires. We check the document and record the expiration date.
We send reminders 30 and 7 days before it expires. If it lapses, the listing pauses on its own until a new certificate is approved.
They pass the Pro Grill test
Pro Grill has cleaned and repaired grills, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces and fire pits for years. Our test covers what we expect any company in the field to know: gas safety, leak checks, burners and valves, ignition, and when a job needs a licensed gas contractor.
Companies that fail can retake it once they have studied up.
A real business you can reach
We confirm the business name, phone, service area and website or Google profile match. No lead brokers, no call centers posing as local companies.
Every listing shows what we checked and when.
Reviews we moderate, not edit
Reviews left here are checked for spam and fake accounts before they post. We never remove an honest review because it is negative, and businesses can reply publicly.
Businesses can flag a review, but only our team decides.
Limited spots per area
We reserve the right to limit how many companies we accept in each area. A short list of good companies beats a long list of anyone who paid.
What we want you to know
- Companies listed here are independent businesses. They set their own prices and do the work under their own insurance.
- Featured and Priority listings are paid placements and are always labeled. Paying never buys a badge, a review or a higher rating.
- Pro Grill owns and operates some of the companies listed. They meet the same requirements as everyone else.
- Vetting lowers the risk; it doesn't replace your own judgment. Get the price in writing and ask questions before work starts.
Something go wrong?
If a listed company did poor work, didn't show up, or something doesn't look right on a listing, tell us. We read every report and pause companies that don't meet our standards.
