Cal Flame is best known for prefab BBQ islands, the stucco and tile kitchens you see at home centers and backyard showrooms. The grill heads that come in those islands are a mid priced design, and the parts are priced that way too. Most repairs land under $100 per part. The harder part with Cal Flame is matching the right part to the right grill, because the company has sold several generations of grill heads under similar names.

What drives the price of Cal Flame parts
Cal Flame has sold G series, P series and Convection grills, in 3, 4 and 5 burner sizes. The model number tells you a lot. A number like BBQ18G05 means a 5 burner G series, and the two digits after BBQ change between generations (an older BBQ09G03 and a newer BBQ18G03 are not the same grill inside). Parts sometimes cross between generations and sometimes don't.
Burner material is the other big factor. Some G series grills shipped with porcelain coated cast iron burners, while the current replacement burner Cal Flame sells for the G, P and Convection grills is cast stainless. Stainless costs a little more and lasts a lot longer.
Warranty matters too. On grills built after January 1, 2017, Cal Flame lists 10 years on the frame and housing, stainless burners and V grates, 3 years on flame tamers and the warming rack, and 1 year on everything else. Labor is not included. If your grill is newer, check that before buying parts.

Part by part breakdown
Burners
The cast stainless main burner for G series, P series and Convection grills runs about $95. It measures about 16 by 2 inches. Amazon has 4 and 5 packs of cast stainless burners listed as fitting Cal Flame along with Bull and Blaze, but those listings run from about 15 3/4 to 16 1/8 inches, and Bull pattern burners are wider than the Cal Flame part. Measure before you order. Our grill burner price guide compares the brands.
Sear Zone infrared burner
The Sear Zone burner swaps into a main burner spot and puts out about 15,000 BTU. Its list price is a little over $200, but dealer sales often bring it down to about $135. Infrared ceramics crack from water, hard brushing or impacts, so if yours is cracked, find out why before you replace it. More on that in the infrared burner cost guide.
Valves and knobs
A Cal Flame main burner control valve runs about $45 to $50. Natural gas and propane valves are different parts, so know your gas type. Cal Flame uses cast stainless knobs on its current grills. We couldn't confirm a current price for replacement knobs, so ask a dealer or have Pro Grill look it up. Gas valves should always be OEM. See our valve price breakdown for why.
Ignition
Cal Flame grills use an igniter at each burner, so one burner that won't light usually means one electrode, one wire, or one dirty burner port, not a failed system. Clean the area around the electrode first. Universal push button and battery igniter kits sell for about $20 to $32, but treat them as a last resort if the factory part can't be found. Our ignition parts cost guide walks through the usual suspects.
Flame tamers, grates and rotisserie
Cal Flame sells stainless flame tamers and V grates as replacement parts, but we couldn't confirm current prices for them, so they aren't in the table. Expect them to cost less than the same parts on Lynx or Fire Magic grills. The Cal Flame rotisserie kits run on a 110 volt motor. A universal 40 lb stainless motor costs about $60 and can replace a dead motor if the spit drive matches. See our grill grate prices and rotisserie parts costs for comparisons.
OEM vs aftermarket for Cal Flame
There is some aftermarket supply for Cal Flame, mostly burners, igniters and rotisserie motors. The burners are the one area where it may save real money, but fit is not guaranteed. Grates and flame tamers can sometimes be swapped with generic sizes if the measurements match closely.
Keep valves, regulators, hoses and gas fittings OEM. A cheap valve that leaks inside an island is a fire hazard in an enclosed space.
Find your model and serial number first
Before ordering anything, get the full model number (for example BBQ18G04) and the serial number from the rating label on the grill head. Also note natural gas or propane. If the grill came as part of a Cal Flame island, the island itself has a different model number than the grill head, so don't order off the island number. Your owner's manual will list the grill head model if the label has faded.
DIY or hire a pro
Grates, flame tamers and burners lift out on most Cal Flame grills. Valves, the manifold and anything behind the control panel are harder, and Cal Flame grills are almost always built into an island, which limits access from below. Labor depends on how tight the island cutout is, how corroded the fasteners are, and whether the repair needs a leak test afterward.
Most service companies in our network are dealers or have dealer accounts, so they can usually track down the right Cal Flame part and install it in one trip. Search for a grill tech by ZIP or start with grill repair pros near you. Since Cal Flame grills live in islands, a full outdoor kitchen cleaning at the same visit is often worth it.
Where to buy Cal Flame parts
Pro Grill carries the brand, so you can shop Cal Flame parts at the Pro Grill store. If you need something that isn't listed, send Pro Grill a parts request with your model and serial number. Cal Flame burners are often compared with Bull's, so see the Bull parts price guide, and if your grill is old and failing in several places, read whether to repair or replace before spending money.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a Cal Flame replacement burner?
The cast stainless main burner for Cal Flame G series, P series and Convection grills runs about $95. The Sear Zone infrared burner costs about $135 to $215.
Do Bull burners fit Cal Flame grills?
Sometimes. Amazon multi packs are listed for both, but Cal Flame's burner is about 16 by 2 inches and Bull pattern burners are wider. Measure your old burner before ordering.
What is the Cal Flame grill warranty?
For grills built after January 1, 2017, Cal Flame lists 10 years on the frame, stainless burners and V grates, 3 years on flame tamers and the warming rack, and 1 year on other parts. Labor is not covered.
Why won't one burner on my Cal Flame grill light?
Cal Flame uses an igniter at each burner, so it is usually one dirty or cracked electrode, a loose wire, or clogged burner ports. Clean and check those before buying parts.
What does the Cal Flame model number mean?
A number like BBQ18G05 means a 5 burner G series grill. The two digits after BBQ change between generations, and parts don't always cross between them.
