Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet builds some of the most expensive grills sold in the United States. Their Hybrid Fire grills burn gas, charcoal and wood in the same firebox, and the steel is thick enough that a Kalamazoo can outlast the house it sits behind. Parts follow the same pattern as the grills. They are made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, they are heavy, and they are priced accordingly.

This guide is shorter than our other brand guides because Kalamazoo does not publish prices for most internal parts. We list the parts we could verify in October 2026 and explain how to get the rest.

What drives the price of a Kalamazoo part

  • Low volume. Kalamazoo builds grills by hand in small numbers. There is no mass production to bring part costs down.
  • Material. Grill surfaces are 1/4 inch solid stainless steel, laser cut. That is several times heavier than the grates on most premium grills.
  • Factory only. Kalamazoo sells most replacement parts through its own service department and its dealers. There is no real aftermarket.
  • The model. Hybrid Fire, Gaucho, Echo and older models such as the Bread Breaker each use their own parts. Older grills from the 1990s and 2000s may need parts Kalamazoo has redesigned.

Part by part breakdown

Grill surfaces and grates

Kalamazoo calls its grates grill surfaces, and you can swap patterns for different foods. A laser cut meat pattern grate runs about $640. A plancha pattern grate runs about $495 to $575 depending on size and seller, and some sizes have been discontinued. The Echo plancha surface for Kalamazoo's Echo grills is about $605. Kalamazoo also offers vegetable and fish patterns. Our grill grate cost guide shows how far apart these prices are from typical stainless rod grates.

These surfaces are close to indestructible. Most owners replace them to add a new pattern, not because the old one wore out.

Burners, igniters and valves

Kalamazoo does not list prices for burners, igniters, valves or thermometers. Owners who have called the factory report quotes well above what they expected, and the parts are proprietary, so generic replacements rarely fit. Expect to pay luxury brand prices, closer to what you see in our Lynx parts guide or Hestan parts guide than anything from a big box brand. For general context, see our grill burner price guide and ignition parts guide.

Because valves, burners and gas fittings are safety parts, use genuine Kalamazoo parts and have the system leak tested after any gas repair.

Covers and accessories

A fitted Sunbrella cover starts around $380. Kalamazoo's smoker pellet insert, which adds pellet smoke to a Hybrid Fire grill, runs about $295. A cover is worth the money on a grill like this. It keeps rain out of the wood and charcoal drawer and protects the finish. Our grill cover cost guide compares covers across brands.

OEM vs aftermarket

There is no meaningful aftermarket for Kalamazoo. The grill surfaces, burners and drawer parts are made in house to Kalamazoo's own dimensions. A few small items, such as a screw-in dial thermometer, can sometimes be replaced with a quality generic part, but anything that touches gas or fire should come from Kalamazoo.

Find your model and serial number first

Kalamazoo tracks every grill by serial number, and the factory will want it before quoting a part. Check your owner's manual and the data label on the grill. Kalamazoo service can look up the original build from the serial, which matters on older grills where parts have changed. Photos of the part and the grill help too.

How to make Kalamazoo parts last

With parts priced like this, upkeep matters more than on most grills. A few habits go a long way.

  • Burn off and brush the grill surfaces after each cook, while they are still warm. Solid stainless holds onto carbon if it cools with food on it.
  • Empty ash from the wood and charcoal drawer after every fire. Wet ash is corrosive and eats steel faster than heat does.
  • Keep the grill covered when it is not in use, especially near the coast or around sprinklers.
  • Have the burners, venturis and gas lines checked once a year. Spiders, mud daubers and grease buildup cause most weak flame and lighting problems, and a cleaning costs far less than a factory burner.
  • Fix small problems early. A sticky knob or a slow igniter is cheaper to sort out before it turns into a valve or wiring repair.

A yearly deep grill cleaning from a pro who knows high end grills is a good investment on a Kalamazoo.

DIY or hire a pro

Swapping a grill surface is a simple lift-out job. Anything involving the gas system, igniters, or the wood and charcoal drawer on a Hybrid Fire grill is better handled by a technician who has worked on Kalamazoo before. Labor cost depends on the job, travel, and how long the factory part takes to arrive.

Many grill repair companies in our network are dealers or have dealer accounts and can order factory parts and install them in one trip once the part is in hand. You can find a grill specialist by ZIP code in our directory. Since these grills often sit in large outdoor kitchens, an outdoor kitchen cleaning can be scheduled with the repair.

How we get our pricesPrices come from current listings at authorized parts dealers, the Pro Grill parts store, manufacturer parts sites and Amazon, checked by hand.
